.St. John MBC was organized prior to 1922. The exact number of years are not known. Some have estimated that the church was establised as far back as 1910. On a Wednesday night in March of 1922, a storm blew the original building away. Church services were then held on a camp ground about 1 mile from U.S. Highway 65 in Lincoln County, Gould, Arkansas. During that summer and fall, a new building was constructed and was ready for occupancy by the beginning of winter 1922. Sometime between the period of 1952-1965 the building was moved from Gould, Arkansas to Mitchellville and rebuilt in the late 60,s. Service was held in this remodeled building until 1983. In 1983 the present building was constructed and dedicated January 22, 1984. .
